Tri Kappa was established on September 9, 1906, and exists to bring women in close, unselfish relationship for the promotion of charity, culture and education. Pyle reflected that mission as an active Tri Kappa member prior to her passing on February 17, 2005. Pyle served as fundraising chair for Tri Kappa and was the Director of the Miss Huntington Pageant for many years. Since the closure of the pageant, Tri Kappa has honored her legacy through financial support of the Huntington County 4-H Royalty Contest.

Pyle held the title Director of Sales for Pyle Industries for eighteen years and taught as an adjunct professor of business education at Huntington College for seven years. During her lifetime, Stephanie Pyle was known for her unwavering commitment to community involvement within Huntington County.

Among an impressive list of volunteer experience, Pyle served in various leadership capacities with the Huntington County Chamber of Commerce, Huntington County United Way, LaFontaine Arts Council, Huntington’s Heritage Days festival, Huntington Rotary Club, Dan Quayle Commemorative Foundation, St. Peter’s First United Church of Christ, Junior Achievement and more. Because of her passionate involvement, she was named the Huntington County Citizen of the Year In 1992.

The Stephanie Pyle Tri Kappa Fund will ensure Pyle’s influential contributions will continue to impact Huntington County for years to come. Community members are invited to donate to the Stephanie Pyle Tri Kappa Fund if interested.
