Thomas & Suzanne Seifferlein, better known as Tom and Susie, graduated from Ball State University with degrees in education. Tom became an industrial arts teacher, and Susie an elementary teacher with Huntington County School Corporation and enjoyed working with children for over thirty years before retiring. Tom and Susie cherished many traveling adventures after their retirement. Susie passed away in July of 2021.
Chuck Homier and Ray Bigelow are lifelong friends and former classmates who wished to honor their former teacher and coach, Thomas Seifferlein, and his late wife, Susie, by creating a scholarship in their honor. As a result, the Thomas & Suzanne Seifferlein scholarship is open to students from Huntington County pursuing a career in a vocational, technical, or skilled trade as well as those who are pursuing a career in education with a preference for elementary education majors. A preference for both sets of criteria will be given to graduates of Lincoln Elementary School.
Eligible students are encouraged to apply for this and dozens of other scholarships through the Foundation’s online application portal at https://www.huntingtonccf.org/scholarship-opportunities/
