Lilly Scholar Update: Webb Receives Hurt Award for Freshman Achievement at Wabash

Huntington County’s 2016 Lilly Endowment Community Scholar Aaron Webb received the Dr. Paul T. Hurt Award for All-Around Freshman Achievement at the Wabash College Awards Chapel on April 27. The award is given annually to the first-year student with distinguished classroom performance and extracurricular activities. Aaron maintains a 4.0 GPA in coursework toward a major in Philosophy and Pre-med.
In 2016, he was selected to participate in the NSF-funded summer program “Speaking Science” for aspiring science researchers at Wabash College and was recognized as a top performer in his Wabash freshman seminar. Currently, he is a member of the Chamber Orchestra, the Public Health Organization, and College Mentors for Kids at Wabash College. In addition, he is employed as a public heath education intern by the Montgomery County Public Health Department.
In the summer of 2017 he will serve as a staff member at Painted Turtle, a summer camp program in the Los Angeles area for children with cerebral palsy, hemophilia, kidney and liver disease, and a variety of other chronic and life-threatening medical conditions.
