First Federal Announces $30,000 Match to Local Relief Fund

First Federal Savings Bank is making a donation of $30,000 to the Huntington County Emergency Relief Fund in partnership with the Huntington County Community Foundation and United Way of Huntington County. First Federal’s donation will extend the existing $2 for $1 match to the community an additional $15,000.

“As a community bank in Huntington, First Federal Savings Bank is honored to have the opportunity to help those in need because it is the right thing to do,” says Michael Zahn, President/CEO of First Federal Savings Bank. “When determining how we could best help our community, we saw the opportunity to partner with the Community Foundation and United Way as the perfect way to maximize impact.”

Contributions to the Emergency Relief Fund can be made by check payable to the Huntington County Community Foundation with Emergency Relief in the memo line or online at www.huntingtonccf.org/relief. For every $1 donated to the Emergency Relief Fund, $2 will be added by First Federal, the Community Foundation and United Way tripling the impact of your donation. 100% of contributions to the Emergency Relief Fund will be utilized to support local organizations who are on the frontlines responding to the emergency needs in our community stemming from the coronavirus pandemic.

Over the past two weeks, $49,470 has been distributed to local organizations providing individual and food assistance, childcare, transitional housing and medical care to those most vulnerable during this crisis.
