The Foundation is thrilled to announce the creation of the Timothy & Donna Deal Community Fund. The fund exists to support local charitable organizations, projects and initiatives through the Foundation’s yearly grant cycles. Tim and Donna chose to establish an unrestricted fund as it provides an opportunity to adapt to ever-changing needs and best help local organizations and community members forever.

“It is a privilege to work with donors like Tim and Donna,” said Matt Ditzler, Community Foundation Executive Director. “The Deal’s commitment to the long-term well-being of our community will continue for generations with the establishment of this fund.”
Family is an integral part of Tim and Donna’s lives, as combined they have 7 children and 15 grandchildren. Tim credits much to his instrumental parents, Robert and Vera Deal, as well as his uncle and aunt, Ephraim (Mike) and Mary Cecil, whose legacy of generosity inspires him still today.

With a special passion for the Andrews community, where Tim grew up, Tim and Donna recently helped launch the Andrews Hometown Endowment Fund with a generous contribution in early 2025. Through the Fund, they were thrilled to give back to a community that has given so much. The first grant cycle of the Andrews Hometown Endowment Fund provided support for Huntington Area Recreational Trails Association (HARTA) to support the development of an Andrews Trailhead, as well as the Boys & Girls Club of Andrews to cover purchasing costs for age-appropriate furniture.

The establishment of the Timothy & Donna Deal Community Fund will further uphold their passion for serving the county and helping community members thrive and prosper. As long-time Huntington County residents, Tim and Donna’s notable list of community involvement shows how their investment in Huntington reaches far beyond monetary contributions. Tim has served as a board member for the Andrews Riverside Cemetery, the Tree Board (a component of the Mayor’s Advisory Council on Environmental Stewardship) and the Historic Forks of the Wabash, where Donna also serves as a guide. The couple are proud master gardeners, enjoy pickleball, YMCA regulars, attend Emmanuel Community Church, and seasonally, Tim is often found at Maple Grove Golf Course.
Donna dedicated many years to her work with American Specialty Insurance, and now serves part-time at Town and County Florist making sure beauty is in full bloom county-wide. Tim spent his early career as a draftsman, before becoming a design engineer at IH Heavy Truck Group. He then transitioned to technology companies that deploy software and services to engineering companies. This gave him the ability to travel extensively and work with some wonderful companies and leaders before retiring in 2012.
Tim and Donna are passionate about shaping the future for their family, heritage and community. The Community Foundation is honored to work alongside Tim & Donna, as well as uphold the legacy of Robert & Vera Deal and Mike & Mary Cecil through their meaningful funds.
